چکیده

The variousmechanisms that represent the know-howof decision-makers are exposed to a common weakness, namely, a lack of consistency. To overcome this weakness within AHP (analytic hierarchy process), we propose a framework that enables balancing consistency and expert judgment. We specifically focus on a linearization process for streamlining the trade-off between expert reliability and synthetic consistency. An algorithm is developed that can be readily integrated in a suitable DSS (decision support system). This algorithm follows an iterative feedback process that achieves an acceptable level of consistency while complying to some degree with expert preferences. Finally, an application of the framework to a water management decision-making problem is presented. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Judgment scales and consistency measure in AHP

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is widely used method in multiple-attribute decision making. In the recent literature many authors used different judgment scales which influenced the results and decisions. In this paper the author reviews and discusses effects of utilization of various judgment scales on priority estimation in AHP. There has been studies that have been concerned with the c...

A Fuzzy AHP Approach for Selection of Measuring Instrument for Engineering College Selection

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a mathematical technique for multi-criteria decision-making. Complex problems or issues involving value or subjective judgments are suitable applications of the AHP approach. ‘Factors considered for the selection of Undergraduate Engineering Institution by the students’, is the research topic of interest. It involves a number of qualitative judgments base...

Modeling Software Quality Evaluation Using the Analytic Hierarchy Process

This paper proposes a modified software quality evaluation method based on products comparison, judging by user perceived satisfaction in terms of quality. The focused evaluation model is formulated on the bases of the ISO 9126 quality model as a generally accepted standard and ISO 12119 for software package, and of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) which is appropriate for comparing paired ...

Studies on Consistency Threshold of Kansei in Paired Comparison

Human Kansei is very complicated and it is not easy to evaluate it. Methods of paired comparison might be useful for evaluating human Kansei because it is generally said that human Kansei is nonlinear while methods of paired comparison are considered to be able to deal with nonlinear problems. In paired comparison it is important to confirm consistency of answers of each subject because if a su...

Consistency Test in ANP Method with Group Judgment Under Intuitionistic Fuzzy Environment

The consistency test is one of the critical components both in AHP and ANP. It is necessary to make sure if the judgment result is accuracy and reliable. This paper stated a specific process of consistency test in ANP with group judgment under intuitionistic fuzzy environment. A two steps de-fuzzification technique with intuitionistic fuzzy number reduction and generalized mean computation is p...
